What we Do

Our activities encompass charitable work through Caritas, spiritual guidance through pastoral care and support for priests and seminarians, education, healthcare, peace and justice initiatives, environmental stewardship, and economic development efforts.

1. CARITAS
This refers to the charitable arm of the Catholic Church, actively involved in social welfare, providing assistance to the vulnerable, including the elderly, disabled, and those in need. This can include access to basic needs like food, shelter, education, clothing, and healthcare. Caritas also participates in emergency relief efforts, both locally and internationally, working to address disasters and their aftermath.

2. PASTORAL CARE
This encompasses the spiritual guidance and support provided by the Church to its members. It involves providing comfort, counseling, and religious services to individuals and communities.

3. CATHOLIC EDUCATION
This refers to the promotion and support of Catholic schools and educational institutions, ensuring access to quality education within a Catholic framework.

4. PRIESTS AND SEMINARIANS
This point highlights the focus on supporting and training individuals pursuing a vocation as priests, ensuring the continuation of religious leadership and ministry. This includes financial support, spiritual guidance, and practical training.

5. HEALTHCARE
This indicates the provision of healthcare services, potentially through clinics, hospitals, or partnerships with existing healthcare providers, aiming to improve the health and well-being of the community.

6. PEACE AND JUSTICE
This area focuses on promoting peace and justice within the community, likely through conflict resolution, advocacy for human rights, and efforts to address social inequalities.

7. ENVIRONMENT CARE
This highlights the commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible stewardship of natural resources. Caritas Rwanda also mentions capacity building within communities to promote sustainable environmental practices.

8. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
This area focuses on initiatives aimed at improving the economic well-being of individuals and communities, potentially through vocational training, microfinance, or support for small businesses. This is highlighted through the focus on social welfare, emergency interventions, and building community capacity. Specifically, the program aims to support young people and women in agriculture, promote small business growth, and ensure that both groups have the resources and opportunities to thrive.
